Rex Ryan confident in Schottenheimer and Sanchez

Despite the rumors of New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and quarterback Mark Sanchez falling out of favor within the organization,  head coach Rex Ryan showed his support during a conference call on Monday.

“I have a huge amount of confidence in both guys, there is no doubt,” said Ryan. “I have stated it over and over, my feelings about Mark Sanchez. … It wasn’t Mark’s best day by any stretch of the imagination. But we know he’s done it, and he’s been doing it, and we have great confidence in him, and I have great confidence in him.

“And as far as Brian Schottenheimer is concerned, shoot, we’ll just keep working side by side, shoulder by shoulder, and we’re trying to find a way to beat Miami. So I have confidence in him, all our coaches. We have to find a way to get it done.”

It’s great to see Ryan show his support for both Sanchez and Schottenheimer,  but it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the Jets are looking for a new offensive coordinator in the offseason.
