According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, via NFL.com, the Tennessee Titans will not release running back Chris Johnson.
“I’m told the Titans have no plans to release him, but Johnson has, in fact, not been told that,” Rapoport told NFL Network’s “Total Access” on Wednesday. “He still seems a little nervous about his place. But no worries,Chris Johnson, I’m told he will be on the roster in 2013, working with a running backs coach in Sylvester Croom, who I know is extremely excited to work with him, as Croom told me, ‘I’ve never worked with anybody that fast.’ “
This isn’t a surprise since the Titans have reportedly decided to pick up Johnson’s $10 million option that will guarantee him $9 million for the 2013 season.
Even though Johnson had a down year in 2012 and complained about the Titans’ offensive line, he’s there best player and he’s the only guy who can sell tickets for them right now.
