According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans are cutting safety Ed Reed after only nine games this season.
Texans are releasing Ed Reed today.

Once Reed recovered from offseason hip surgery, he didn’t give the Texans a reason to keep him in the lineup as a starter with the emergence of D.J. Swearinger.
Now Reed will at least have a chance to play for a contender. If any teams are interested.
