According to Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, former Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is still in play to be taken with the first overall pick by the Houston Texans.
“After his pro day everyone thought that he was done as the number one pick. It was not a good pro day. I’m hearing completely differently that he’s definitely still in the mix,” said Freeman. “They met with Bridgewater–the Texans brass–and they like his personality. One thing Bill O’Brian wants is someone who comes in with a sense of maturity. Remember who Bill O’Brian worked with–Tom Brady–one of the great assassins of all time who has a tremendous work ethic and maturity level. Bill O’Brian is looking for that as well in his quarterback. So there is no question he is still on the table no matter what you hear. The Texans like him. Doesn’t mean they’re going to pick him. Just means he’s defientely still in the mix for the Texans.”
