According to Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com, former NFL head coach and current NFL Network analyst Steve Mariucci looks like he’d be interested in potentially coaching the University of Arkansas football team. He indicated that the school hasn’t contacted him.
“I just had a few phone calls from my son and a few friends asking what’s going on and to be honest I hadn’t heard about it,” Mariucci told CBSSports.com. “It comes as a complete surprise to me.”
Marriucci was asked if he’s interested in getting back into coaching, and he said: “It has to be the right situation. I haven’t ruled it out [coaching again]. I enjoy what I do now. If something that comes up that makes sense, but I’ve had no contact with Arkansas.”
Mariucci has shown some interest in the past of some vacant NFL head coaching jobs, but nothing has ever gotten serious.
