According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, the Washington Redskins have agreed to a trade with the St. Louis Rams for the second overall pick in this year’s draft.
The Redskins and Rams have swapped first round picks this year, and the Rams will also get two future 1st round picks and some additional picks.
Now with the second overall pick, the Redskins will certainly draft former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Update: Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the trade won’t become official until Tuesday. Dan Snyder and Stan Kroenke have already signed off on the it though.
Update: According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, four teams were in deep talks with the Rams on Thursday about a potential trade. Redskins submitted the winning bid once they found out they were out of the race for Peyton Manning.
Update: Per Schefter, before the Rams and Redskins agreed on their deal, Browns tried to make one final push, but it was too late.

This is not as dumb as the Jets extension of Sanchez’s contract but the team is taking a huge risk by trading future draft picks for an unproven QB.
