Report: Perry Riley looking for Dannell Ellerbe money in free agency

According to Mike Jones of The Washington Post,  there’s some belief that Redskins linebacker Perry Riley will look for a contract very similar to what the Dolphins gave Dannell Ellerbe last offseason.

Two other league insiders predict that Riley, who has earned an average of $790,000 a year over the past four seasons, will seek a similar contract to that of Miami’s Dannell Ellerbe, who last season signed a five-year deal that pays him roughly $7 million per year.

What really helped Ellerbe last year was the fact that he helped the Ravens win the Super Bowl.  While I think Riley is probably just as talented,  the fact that the Redskins were horrible in 2013, will hurt him.
