Report: Panthers will fire Ron Rivera

Even though the Carolina Panthers finished strong this season, they’re expected to fire head coach Ron Rivera, according to Michael Lomnbardi of the NFL Network.

I don’t think this is a great move, but with the Panthers now having to bring in a new general manager, he’ll be able to bring in his own guy to coach the team in 2013.

Why would you fire a Coach who has only had 2 years to implement a plan with a 2nd year QB. This is also the youngest team in the NFL who is understanding the plan now. This team has improved greatly even if they have lost several close games in the 4th quarter. Give the HC at least 1 more year to make the playoffs and if he does not succeed then cut him. I would rather release a lazy player under contract then release a HC who is really trying.
