According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez blew up at general manager John Idzik after the preseason game in which he injured his shoulder.
Sanchez shouted at general manager John Idzik in the trainer’s room after the game, according to witnesses. Sanchez was furious the team put him in the game when it did — in the waning minutes of a meaningless contest behind a second-string offensive line.
There has been tension between the organization and Sanchez since then, according to sources. With the season-ending surgery he has likely played his last game for the Jets.
You have to give Sanchez credit because he’s really supported the Jets as well as his teammates while he’s been on the sidelines and hasn’t shown any remorse.
I’m sure Sanchez’s emotions have been calmed by knowing that he’s played his last down with the Jets. I don’t believe he’ll have a problem getting signed as a free agent once he’s released.
If Sanchez can put his time with the Jets behind him and gain some confidence, he might be able to salvage his career.
