Report: Lovie Smith likely won’t coach in 2013

According to Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times, it doesn’t look like former Bears head coach Lovie Smith will get a head coaching gig for next season.

It sounds like Smith will sit out the 2013 season instead of possibly taking a job as a defensive coordinator.

Even if Smith doesn’t work in 2013, he’ll still get paid by the Bears. They reportedly owe him at least $5 million for next season.
