According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune, if Chargers general manager A.J. Smith ends up getting fired in San Diego, he’ll likely be headed to the St. Louis Rams to become their new general manager. A decision on his future is expected next week.
Acee also indicated that there’s belief that former NFL head coach and current Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden has decided that he’ll coach in 2012 and that he’ll be the next head coach of the Rams Smith does end up in St. Louis.
If Gruden does end up in St. Louis, current Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo will then likely be fired.
Spagnuolo should draw a lot of interest from teams that are in need of a defensive coordinator.
