According to Vaugh McClure of the Chicago Tribune (via NFL.com), as much as former Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox would love to play next season, it likely won’t happen.
“He had to work himself back up to where he could even walk,” former Bears receivers coach Darryl Drake told the Tribune. “He had to work to get himself up out of bed. Hopefully, he’ll continue to work and get himself back to where he can have the quality of life that he needs to have.”
The fact that Knox has been recovering for over a year and is still learning how to once again live a normal life, it’s very unlikely he’ll play again.
I’m sure if the Bears felt like Knox could play again, they wouldn’t have released him now.
