It was reported earlier today that the New York Jets may try and trade up in the first round of tomorrow’s draft to land Alabama running back Trent Richardson, since he’s the number one player on their board.
Now it looks like as much as the Jets may want Richardson, it doesn’t look like they’ll be willing to give up the picks that would enable them to trade up, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
“It’s ridiculous,” one official said, per Mehta.
It would indeed be ridiculous for the Jets to make a move for a running back when they already have a lot more pressing needs.
Mehta did point out that the only way the Jets might possibly trade up is if by a miracle Richardson begins to slide in the first round.Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZone
