New York Jets’ receiver Santonio expects to miss a couple games this season due to suffering a Lisfranc injury 10 months ago. If you’re wondering whats taking Holmes so long to come back, you’re are not alone.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, there is some people close to the Jets’ organization that are starting to wonder if Holmes is milking his injury.
Holmes has hinted that he might not even play this season. The Jets are likely to cut Holmes at the end of this season, so it’s fair to wonder if Holmes wants to limit the chances or re-injuring his foot and hurt his chances of being healthy when he finally is released.
Cimini also said that at the team’s public training camp, Holmes was playing up to the crowd and walking across the field “like an old man” as fans told Holmes to get better.
At least the team and fans can look forward to a fresh start in 2014 when the team can cut incumbent quarterback Mark Sanchez, fire head coach Rex Ryan, and now also release Holmes.
