Report: Jared Allen underwent offseason knee surgery

According to 1500ESPN.com, Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen underwent minor offseason knee surgery.

Allen underwent knee surgery on Jan. 31, the same day he had the shoulder repaired, two NFL sources said.

One source categorized the knee surgery as a “minor” cleanup job. The expectation is Allen should be ready for the team’s June minicamp.

Allen will turn 31 next week and his body is only going to break down as time goes on.  He was still able to rack up 12 sacks in 2012.
