Without much of a surprise, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will likely remain on the PUP list when the regular season kicks off next month, according to the Boston Globe.
Tight end Rob Gronkowski has almost become a forgotten member of the Patriots as he rehabs from back surgery and sits out training camp. He has attended practices most days in street clothes, but the Patriots won’t make him available to the media until he comes off the physically unable to perform list, which could be any time in training camp (highly doubtful), before Week 1 (possible), or after missing six regular-season games, by rule (more likely).
If Gronk does miss the first six weeks of the regular season, it should enable him to get in shape and be ready to help the Patriots make a run through the playoffs. Yes I do believe theyre still a playoff team with or without Gronkowski. They’re still the best team in the AFC East with Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.
