According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Atlanta Falcons are close to acquiring Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel for a late-round pick.
The Falcons and Eagles had agreed on the terms of a trade yesterday, but they were having a problem with agreeing with Samuel on a pay cut that would be beneficial to both sides. Samuel wanted to keep most of the $10 million he’s set to make in 2012. They’ve clearly made progress since then.
