Earlier today Ed Werder of ESPN reported that the Cowboys and the reps of Tony Romo have had preliminary discussions towards getting a contract extension done.
According to Mike Florio of PoFootballTalk.com, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says they’re not looking to extend Romo’s contract.
Florio also mentioned that a source told him that an extension is unlikely right now.
A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that, regardless of what the Cowboys want to do, a new Romo contract is unlikely, for the time being.
“It’s hard to do a deal at this point,” said Florio’s source.
