According to Larry Holder of CBSSports.com, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is “livid” about receiving the franchise tag and not getting a long-term contract done.
There are some indications from Brees’ camp that he might hold out if a new long-term deal isn’t completed before the season begins.
The Saints and Brees have until July 15th to get something done. Once they pass that date, Brees will be forced to play the 2012 season under the franchise tag. In that case he might decide to hold out.
Looks like the Saints are having quite a stellar offseason by upsetting their franchise quarterback as well as the NFL with bountygate.
