Reports have been surfacing that the Broncos and Ryan Clady are getting a closer to hammering out a contract extension before Monday’s deadline for players that have been hit with the franchise tag.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, a deal “should get done” between Clady and the Broncos.

With two days to go until the window for signing franchise-tagged left tackle Ryan Clady to a long-term deal closes until the completion of the regular season, a source with knowledge of the negotiations tells PFT that the contract “should get done.”  The source cautioned, however, that plenty of issues still remain, specifically as it relates to the structure of the deal.

The challenge for both sides is to work out a contract that properly takes into account a one-year guaranteed salary of $9.66 million but that also reflects the current dynamic of the market, which has become more and more skewed toward the quarterback position.
