According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, quarterback David Garrard believes the New York Jets will sign him once they work out their cap issues.
“David Garrard ‘anticipates putting a deal together’ with Jets once they can work through cap issues, per source. ‘Both sides are feeling good about a possible deal,’ said source,” wrote Schefter.
The Jets are currently $8 million over the cap, but still have some problems to work out.
So if and when the Jets sign Garrard, you have to wonder if they’ll still try and sign Brady Quinn who’ll be a free agent once the new year kicks off on March 12th.
