According to NFL.com, Andrea Kremer of the NFL Network has reported that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have cleared cornerback Darrelle Revis for action as he continues to work his way back from ACL surgery.
NFL Network’s Andrea Kremer reports that Buccaneers doctors have cleared Revis for action. Technically, he’s been cleared for weeks for all activities by his operating surgeon, Dr. Russell Warren. Kremer’s latest segment for her series “Project Revis” will air Wednesday on NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access.”
Buccaneers veterans report for work Wednesday and will take a conditioning test, but Revis will be one of eight players held out of the test because he hasn’t trained for it. Revis is expected to participate in individual drills but probably not seven-on-seven work.
Kremer reports the team feels confident Revis can do everything, and he wants to do everything. But the Buccaneers will exercise caution early in training camp. No matter how you slice it, it would be stunning if Revis wasn’t ready to face his former team in the season opener.
Even though Revis has been cleared, I would be surprised if he plays in any preseason games.
