According to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com, the Cowboys will meet with Anthony Spencer’s agent at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
The Cowboys have already made it clear they want to re-sign Spencer, but they’re currently $20 million over the salary cap. One way to create more cap space would be to sign quarterback Tony Romo to a cap-friendly extension. They can also restructure some of the contracts of current players on their roster.
The Cowboys will have until March 12th to get under the cap, since that’s when the new league year officially begins.
