Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News reported on Monday that the 49ers and Colin Kaepernick have kicked off their contract talks without any issues.
Kawakami also reported that he believes the minimum for a new deal for Kaepernick will pay him at least $15-16 million per season.
…. it sounds like $15M to $16M is the floor for an average salary here, which is a lot higher than I originally thought and would bring Kaepernick near the top echelon of QB salaries.
That seems like a fair price since arguably the NFL ‘s best quarterback in Aaron Rodger is making over $20 million a season.
