The Kansas City Star reports that defensive back Sanders Commings broke his collarbone on the first day of training camp.
While there is no telling how much time Commings will be out for, it is certain he will miss all of the preseason. Last year, Chargers’ running back Ryan Mathews broke his collarbone in the first carry of the preseason and managed to come back by week 3. The Chiefs definitely will consider placing Commings on injured reserve.
Commings was selected in the fifth round out of Georgia where he had 3 years of experience at cornerback. He was expected to also work at safety for the Chiefs.
