According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter via ArrowheadPride.com, the Kansas City Chiefs and first round pick Dontari Poe are “not close” to getting a deal done.

“Chiefs and Dontari Poe, the 11th overall pick, right now are not close,” said Schefter, via ArrowheadPride.com.  ”The next 24 hours are said to be critical to getting a deal done and typically both sides will be motivated to get that deal done and to get Poe into camp. But right now as it stands Poe and the Chiefs are not close.”

Poe and Chiefs should be able to finalize something fairly soon even though things aren’t close, according to Schefter.

Just the other day both Trent Richardson and Brandon Weeden weren’t close to getting their contract done.  Then two days later they were signed.
