Report: Chargers’ lose Jonas Mouton for the year to ACL

According to Michael Gehlken of the U-T San Diego, the injury that San Diego Chargers’ linebacker Jonas Mouton suffered on Thursday will end his season.

Head coach Mike McCoy confirmed the torn anterior cruciate ligament on Mouton’s right knee. McCoy echoed the mindset that most NFL head coaches have regarding injuries; next man up.

“it’s just an unfortunate thing,” McCoy said of injuries. “You feel so bad for the players, but it gives another person on the football team an opportunity.”

Jonas Mouton was drafted in the second round out of Michigan 3 years ago by the Chargers. In his first year Mouton missed most of the year due to a shoulder injury and was usually inactive on game days. Now Mouton will lose a whole year again to injury.

The team also lost linebacker Melvin Ingram to the same injury.
