According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Chargers have discussed the possibility of moving up in the first round of Thursday’s NFL draft in order to grab Alabama safety Mark Barron.
If the Chargers are going to have a shot at landing Barron, they’ll need to move up from the 18th pick into the top 13 of the first round to make sure they’re in front of the Dallas Cowboys who also covet Barron.
In the past the Chargers haven’t been afraid to trade up for players they want. They did it just a few years ago when they drafted running back Ryan Mathews early in the first round.
