Report: Chances are “close to zero” Hakeem Nicks re-signs with the Giants

hakeen nicks 2According to the Newark Star-Ledger,  there’s pretty much no chance the Giants will be re-signing Hakeem Nicks.

Put it all together and the chances of Nicks returning to the Giants next season are “close to zero,” according to a person with knowledge of the situation. That would leave the Giants with Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle and Jerrel Jernigan as the only proven wide receivers currently on the roster for next season.

The Giants have been grooming Rueben Randle to take over for Nicks.  The good news is that Randle played a lot better in 2013 then he did as a rookie.  They’ll need him to continue to progress upwards.

We should be ok I think were going to end up with a TE at 12 unless a WR falls to us. Either way Eli Manning will have go to guys. I wouldn’t mind having a TE like Vernon Davis who he is being compared to in our NEW West Coast Offense. But then again if you can get one of those BIG WR’s to pair across from Randle and let Cruz work the slot it’s still going to be a deadly passing offense either way. 12 is way to high to draft an OG which is what we need on O-line so thats ruled out so much talent if the best CB in the draft slips you have to take him. Either way in the first 4 rounds we could easily walk away with atleast 3 starters possibly 4. The O-line RB and LB positions are very deep this year so we could get starters pretty late.
