According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Arizona Cardinals are conducting their due diligence on quarterback Matt Cassel.
He also added that the Vikings are in search for a veteran back-up QB for Christian Ponder and mentioned the possibility of Cassel moving to Minnesota.
Cassel is a solid quarterback who has had his share of ups and downs. Highly touted after filling in for an injured Tom Brady in New England, Cassel and the Patriots missed the playoffs with an 11-5 record. He was instantly used as trade bait and shipped to the Chiefs in February 2009.
After a lackluster start to his career as a Chief, Cassel bounced back in 2010 to lead the team and clinch the Wild-card spot, a game they lost to the Baltimore Ravens.
The 30-year-old quarterback will search for his rhythm again with a different offense.
