Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Bryant McKinnie may be on the hook for $4.5 million according to a lawsuit filed by Pro Player Funding back in November. McKinnie took out a “lockout loan” from the sports lending agency in the amount of $4.2 million in February of 2011.
The lending firm alleges that McKinnie missed a payment on the loan in August of last year. All parties involved in the lawsuit, including McKinnie, have agreed to the garnishment of the offensive lineman’s wages this coming season.
However, Pro Player Funding has filed a second lawsuit against McKinnie to try to recoup money from McKinnie’s future wages. Moreover, McKinnie is countersuing Pro Player Funding, claiming that $1.7 million of the original loan was never delivered to him and that the firm engaged in unscrupulous business activities.
