According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter via Evan Silva, the Cleveland Browns still really like Colt McCoy as their quarterback, and it doesn’t look like they’ll use the 4th overall pick to take Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
“(They) really like Colt McCoy … It doesn’t look like they’re interested in Ryan Tannehill with the number 4 pick,” said Schefter per Silva.
Right now I expect the Browns to take Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon with the 4th overall pick and maybe take a quarterback with the 22nd overall pick or early in the second round.
The Browns definitely need to go with Blackmon because they don’t have weapons for their quarterback to work with, whether that’s McCoy or not.

For the love of all things holy, PLEASE select Mr. Blackmon at #4! You can always grab Weeden at 22 or maybe in the second round. If they plan on giving Colt another chance, they need an elite WR. I say leave Richardson there, and maybe take LaMichael James in the 2nd round. I’m no expert, but it’s clear the Browns need a solid wideout ASAP.
When
Mike Holmgren claims that Colt McCoy is his guy, I believe him as much
as people believed John Elway when he stated, matter of factly, that Tim
Tebow was his guy and he was going to stick with him…lol. Colt
McCoy is what the Cleveland Browns are stuck with, until the Browns
management is able to get an NFL caliber quarterback for their team.
What do you get when you put the best NFL line and the best receiving
corps together with Colt McCoy, that’s easy…a losing NFL football
team. It’s not rocket science, and no matter what spin Mike Holmgren
puts on it, when he tells himself the truth, he knows that currently the
Cleveland Browns don’t have a single NFL caliber quarterback on their
team and he knows it.
To give you a perspective here, Tim Tebow is a 5 times better NFL
caliber quarterback than any quarterback currently on the Cleveland
Browns roster!!!! That fact is pretty sad when you sit down and think
about it, and it clearly shows how bad the Cleveland management has done
the past several years!
