We mentioned last night that Rich Tandler of CSNWashington.com wasn’t so sure that Mike Holmgren and the Cleveland Browns would be inclined to pull the trigger on a deal that would land them the second overall pick in this year’s draft, which would of course allow them to draft former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III.
John Czarnecki of FOXSports.com is reporting that the St. Louis Rams have been getting mixed signals that indicate the Browns may not be interested in moving up to take Griffin III.
Czarnecki brings up a a great point, he mentioned that Holmgren has never pulled off a major trade like the one that will need to be made in order to move up to and acquire the second overall pick.
Czarnecki also mentioned that even if the Browns offered both of their first round picks, the Rams still might not be interested in getting a deal done. The feeling is that they want a lot in return for the pick that will ultimately land a team one of the top quarterbacks in this year’s class.
