The Browns initiated the trade that sent running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts for a first round pick in 2014, several league sources have told cleveland.com.
Joe Banner and the Browns clearly wanted to unload Richardson and they saw the Colts as the perfect landing spot with Vick Ballard out for the season.
