According to David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears are concerned about the longevity of running back Matt Forte’s knees.
This would certainly explain why the Bears have been reluctant to open their check book in order to give Forte the big pay-day he’s looking for.
If the Bears don’t plan on signing Forte to a long-term deal, I would think they’d at least want to trade him and receive some type of compensation for him.
