Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News told The Dan Patrick Show on Thursday that the 49ers were ready to give quarterback Colin Kaepernick a $100 million deal prior to him being investigated down in Miami for a “suspicious incident.”
“My sense is he’s still their quarterback. They’re ready to reward him with a contract. They’re just going to tap the breaks on the headlong rush into it. They were really ready to give him a $100 million deal a couple of weeks ago. They just had made that decision,” said Kawakami.
Wow. Talk about bad timing.
