According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, the San Francisco 49ers are clearly not interested in quarterback Peyton Manning and haven’t even discussed the possibility of pursuing him.
“We haven’t had Peyton in here nor are we even talking about those things internally right now. … Is he going to play? I don’t know,” said 49ers GM Trent Baalke during an interview with KNBR per the Bee. That’s for the doctors to make the decision on and for him himself.”
When it comes to free agent wide receiver Randy Moss, it looks like Baalke and the 49ers are open to bringing him in.
“Everything’s in play. I mean, we’re going to take a look at all our options. … We’re not going to rule anybody out,” said Baalke
The 49ers certainly have a much greater need at the receiver position and must make a ugrade this offseason in order to try to get back to the NFC title game in 2012.
