According to Paul Gutierrez of CSNBayArea.com, Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie has indicated that he believes quarterback Terrelle Pryor can emerge as a “viable” number two quarterback behind Carson Palmer.
“Absolutely,” McKenzie said without hesitation at the team’s headquarters in a pre-draft media conference. “Yep. Hopefully, our quarterback coach and offensive coordinator, the staff, can work him starting (in) next week’s voluntary minicamp. And see if we can get him rolling. It’s going to be a constant evaluation. But they need to find out how good he is and how good he can be.”
McKenzie acknowledged that Pryor becoming Palmer’s back up is the goal right now.
“That’s his goal right there,” McKenzie said. “And that’s the goal that the coaches are going to try to get him going.”Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZone
