For the first time in his career, Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush has eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark for a single season. He feels that this is just the beginning of what he can accomplish in the NFL.
“I feel like there’s so much more,” Bush said. “This is just the tip of the iceberg.”
Bush was asked if he believes he has the ability to possibly win the NFL rushing title one day, which typically requires a running back to go over 1,500 yards in one season.
“Yes, I do,” he said. “No disrespect to anyone, but I’ve spent a lot of time studying different players, including Chris Johnson. I’ve watched a ton of his runs, especially during his 2,000-yard season. And yeah, I feel like I’m capable of a lot, but I’m not worrying about that yet. My mental focus is entirely on this next game. If I wasn’t, my priorities would be backward, and I wouldn’t be setting myself up to accomplish any of this.”
It would be great to see Bush continue to blossom into an every down back and one day claim a rushing title in the NFL. Until this season he’s been labeled a bust for the most part because of how high he was drafted. It’s time for him to be consistent and prove the doubters wrong.
