Redskins say there’s no connection to Dan Snyder’s neighbor acquiring “Washington Bravehearts” trademark

TMZ reported earlier today that a neighbor of Redskins owner Dan Snyder has applied for the “Washington Bravehearts” trademark.  Some people are thinking Snyder is using his neighbor  to set up a back up plan in case he has to change the name of his organization.

Redskins owner Dan Snyder lives in Potomac, Maryland, a few doors down from a very rich dude, Aris Mardirossian. Aris, a wealthy patent investor, registered the name, WASHINGTON BRAVEHEARTS on October 17th.   According to the Trademark application, obtained by TMZSports, Aris plans to use the name for “Entertainment in the nature of football games.”

Aris also created a company called Washington Brave Hearts, LLC on the same day — Oct. 17th.  We’ve also obtained the LLC docs but there are no specifics.

Mardirossian has also purchased the domain washingtonbravehearts.com, according to CBS Sports.

The Redskins released a statement to ProFootballTalk.com.

“There is no connection between the trademark and the Washington Redskins,” the team said.  ”Dan Snyder does not know the man that was reported in the story.”

So Snyder doesn’t know his own neighbor.  Yeah, ok.

if you must change the Washington Redskins name how about the Washington Warrior’s and keep the helmet logo and team colors, just change the lettering to a W on hats and anything that had a R for Redskins. a all my life (Redskins Fan)
