Redskins’ GM says they’re not considering changing their team name

Washington Redskins general manager Bruce Allen told the media on Thursday that they don’t plan on changing their team name and that it’s “ludicrous” to think they’re trying to disrespect Native Americans.

“There’s nothing that we feel is offensive,” Allen said. “And we’re proud of our history.”

I’m not sure if Allen realizes that even though the Redskins organization may not be trying to insult Native Americans, they are.  There’s a reason that multiple Native American groups have been trying to get the Redskins to change their name for years now.
