We reported last night that free agent quarterback JaMarcus Russell will be working out for the Bears on Friday.
Accordng to Mike Freeman of CBS Sports, there are three teams that are interested in Russell. We already know one of them is the Bears and another one is the Baltimore Ravens.
A league source said at least three teams are interested in Russell–the Bears and the Ravens are two of them, I’m told. USA Today first reported the Ravens’ interest. I’ve also been told there is a third team–the old mystery team–and that team may be in the NFC West.
The Ravens’ interest, I’m told, is tepid. Profootballtalk.com reported there is no interest. So we’ll see.
Baltimore would make sense for Russell. They’re a strong franchise that already has a great starting quarterback in Joe Flacco for Russell to learn from. Not to mention they could use a better back up than Tyrod Taylor.
