Ravens defeat Steelers 22-20; take over the sixth-seed in the AFC

With the victory over Pittsburgh, the Baltimore Ravens have moved into the sixth seed in the AFC. The Steelers failed on the comeback attempt.

Ravens kicker Justin Tucker went five-for-five on field goal attempts. Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco threw for 251 yards and one touchdown.

The Steelers offense showed up late to the party, especially Ben Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger was off target on many of his throws in the first half.

Quarterback Joe Flacco completed a 54-yard bomb to wide receiver Torrey Smith, setting the Ravens up on the Steelers one yard-line. A couple of plays later, Flacco completed a seven-yard pass to Smith for a touchdown, putting the Ravens up 7-0, with 9:18 left in the first quarter.

Kicker Justin Tucker made a 43-yard field goal with 3:01 left in the second quarter, making the score: Ravens 10-0.

Justin Tucker knocked through a 34-yard field goal with 9:21 left in the third quarter, putting the Ravens up 13-0.

Le’Veon Bell busted a 44-yard run, setting the Steelers up inside the Ravens’ 10 yard-line. A couple of plays later, Ben Roethlisberger scampered around and completed an eight-yard pass to wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders for a score. The touchdown toss decreased the Ravens’ lead to 13-7, with 6:26 left in the third quarter.

Justin Tucker made a 38-yard field goal with 3:54 remaining in the third quarter; that put the Ravens up 16-7.

Justin Tucker connected on a 45-yard field goal attempt, with 14:03 left in the fourth, making the score: Ravens 19-7.

Running back Le’Veon Bell scored on a one-yard run, reducing the Ravens lead to five, with 9:32 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Tucker knocked through a 48-yard field goal, with 5:43 left to go in the game. Tucker’s field goal put the Ravens up 22-14.

Roethlisberger fired a 19-yard pass to tight end Heath Miller, setting the Steelers up inside the Ravens’ one yard-line, with under two minutes remaining in the ball game. A couple of plays later, on fourth-down-and-goal, Roethlisberger completed a one-yard pass to wideout Jerricho Cotchery for a touchdown, but the Steelers failed to convert the two-point conversion. After the touchdown, the Ravens led 22-20 with 1:03 left in the game.
