Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall believes that he’ll not only play in 2012, but he could be ready for the season opener on September 9th.
“There’s always the possibility,” Mendenhall said. “I’ll be back at some point. It’s just a matter of what point that is.”
The Steelers haven’t been as optimistic since Mendenhall tore his ACL on January 1st and it takes almost a year to be fully heal. They’re going into this season with the mindset that he may not play.
When Mendenhall was asked if there’s a chance he doesn’t play in 2012 he said, “I don’t see that happening at all.”
