It looks like good news for St. Louis Rams’ fans. In a live chat with Rams’ VP of Football Operations and COO Kevin Demoff it was revealed that although DE Chris Long and LB James Laurinaitis will be free agent’s after this season, the plan is to resign both of them.
In fact, contract negotiations have already begun with each player. Thanks to an ongoing focus over the last couple years on clearing up room in the salary cap to re-sign VIP players in 2013, there is plenty of spending money to pay them. This is very positive news for fans. In the 2011 season Long had 37 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 13 sacks and Laurinaitis had 142 tackles, 2 interceptions and 3 sacks. The team needs some serious help after their 2011 season 2-14 finish and luckily Demoff is “optimistic that both will wear the horns for years to come”.
