Raiders won’t decrease Matt Schaub’s reps despite rough preseason outing

Despite a rough preseason opener, Raiders head coach Dennis Allen says, Matt Schaub’s reps won’t be decreased.

“It’s not really part of the plan right now,” Allen said. “We’ll evaluate everything as we move along, but the plan is to work Matt Schaub as the starting quarterback. I think he’s done a good job of doing that.”

“I was not displeased with Matt Schaub’s performance,” Allen said. “We obviously need to play better. We need to be more consistent, but I thought there were some things we can build on.”

Given the fact that rookie Derek Carr didn’t look very good, there’s no reason to decrease Schaub’s snaps.
