According to ProFootballWeekly.com, even though the Oakland Raiders are confident that running back Darren McFadden will be healthy and ready to go for next season, they would like to re-sign Michael Bush as an insurance policy to McFadden.
We know Bush would love to go to a team where has a shot at becoming a starter.
With the Raiders current salary cap situation, they’re going to have to cut a lot of overpaid veterans like Tommy Kelly, in order to free up enough cap room to sign a player like Bush.
I understand the concern the Raiders have at running back and why they feel they need to re-sign Bush, but it doesn’t make sense to pay a back up running back, the kind of money a starter would make.
