According to Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times, Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie has indicated that contract talks with safety Tyvon Branch’s agent are ongoing at the moment.
The Raiders have until next Monday, July 16th to work out a new deal. If they can’t get something done, they’ll have to wait until after the regular season to start-up negotiations again.
Right now the Raiders have less than $1 million in cap room. If they’re able to sign Branch to a long-term deal, they would free up more money under the cap.
