According to Michael Casagrande of the Decatur Daily, Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain has been sentenced to 180 days in jail because of an incident in December in which he was accused of firing a handgun after pointing it at another man’s head.
If McClain is forced to serve his time as soon as possible, he’ll be out of football until around November, since 180 days equates to six months. I would think there will be an oppurtunity for him to get released early for good behavior.
Update: McClain is appealing his sentence, we’re not sure when he’ll begin serving his jail term. He could also be suspended by the NFL.
