Free agent linebacker Lofa Tatupu is still an option for the Oakland Raiders right now.
The reason Tatupu is still a free agent at this point is because teams aren’t willing to pay him the amount of money that he’s looking for because of his knees problems.
Since Tatupu is primarily a middle linebacker the Raiders aren’t willing to overpay him since they already have Rolando McClain as their middle man. If they signed him he would have to be a back up or play in certain situations.
Steve Corkran of the Contra Cost Times, believes that the Raiders will wait for Tatupu to lower his asking price before they try and sign him.

Before the knee issues, Tatupu would have made a good OLB, but now he is simply a backup for a team with a MLB already. I hope the Raiders don’t pay more than they are paying a guy like Blackstock. We’ll see.
